“Queer and activist, I felt the need early on to translate and represent my peers and their struggles. Using photography as a medium, I discover my identity and understand the urgent drive within me to advocate through an artistic lens. Deconstructing and reconstructing norms, identities, and alternative masculinities and femininities, my work quickly became focused on engaging with my community. I soon realized that my work would be political and committed. My artistic approach stems from several observations, including the lack of representation of minorities and, in particular, their bodies.”
